Lodewood is a replica in wood of the first compass in history, made by the Chinese in the 4th century BCE. 
Lode comes from the ancient english for journey or way.
Back in the days the compass was made of lodestone, a natural magnet, and it was used on the practice of Feng Shui.

Lodewood is a tool made to guide walks. When turned, the hand of the compass gives the direction to be walked.
